Less of what we have done, more of what we know

From Flynn's POV

The Gossamer Order are not actually Gossamer themselves (we do not know what in the blazes they are) but they keep everyone out of contact with the Gossamer. Do we know anyone who has ever actually SEEN a bleedin’ gossamer?

Everyone in the city eats Ghost Lichen, unless something else very expensive is imported. The Gossamer do all the harvesting. It would be understandable then, that these people are enslaved, as Malchior implied.
p.
The Gossamer live in the Godspire, which if Flynn remembers correctly, connects to the network of ropes and bridges crisscrossed above the city for Ghost Lichen harvesting. At any rate, we’re there now, and this will be our first chance to have contact with the Gossamer, and get some truth from them.
p.
We know that Malchior has been dead 33 years. He was killed in his sleep by a troll, which we have burned. He was partnering with two other craftspeople, Baccea and Emeria (see “the Forgedawn Notes”) and they were part of a secret society, and they also seemed to have an agenda to free the gossamer. We spoke with the apparent ghost of Malchior, who claims that he fashioned the puzzlebox which Quinton now carries for Baccea to open. Baccea must have never gotten it.
p.
Malchior made reference to “the corrupted,” which as far ol Cap’n Flynn can tell, is making reference to that same spirit which attacked me on that ghost ship 25 years ago.
p.
We know that 25 years ago, one of those creepy twin girls disappeared, and the other one shut the hell up. This was the same time that the whole damn city was sequestered, I was not allowed to enter the city peaceably, and it was the last time that I saw….
p.
Our learned readers discovered that Baccea also made musical things which can conjur up memories. The silent sister was obsessed with a certain tune on the piano, perhaps attempting to relive the memory of her sister, but now that we know that the girls are connected to Malchior, she was almost certainly conjuring up some memory or another. I’ll bet my last doubloons that she knew Baccea. Also, I wouldn’t be too surprised if my tuning forks could help open that music box of Quinton’s.
p.
Lastly, we know that pitch is the drug of choice (don’t see why, I shoved fistfulls of it in my face and it didn’t do that much for me) and it seems to allow users to communicate with other users. There is a smuggling ring for the stuff, and the traders frequently meet in the Clot. I have no idea who the enforcers are, because we’ve never seen anyone get busted for the stuff. I also know it was these drug smugglers what stole me ship, and I’ve got a personal vendetta with them.
p.
I’m sure I know other stuff, too, but I’m going to drink now.
